Our program is designed as a 5-day workshop with one light, yet engaging lesson each day — but each lesson also stands strong on its own. Each lesson has a version more suitable for younger groups and one more appropriate for slightly older groups. Use them flexibly to suit your teaching goals: whether as a full-week journey or standalone explorations.
Day 1:
Lesson- "Meet the Classics"
Theme/Focus: Introduction/familiarization with classic literary works.
Day 2:
Lesson- "Great Authors"
Theme/Focus: Introduction/familiarization with classic literary authors.
Day 3:
Lesson- "Classic Literary Works Plots Part 1: Character and Genre"
Theme/Focus: Introduction/familiarization with the quintessential parts of classic literary works that are character and genre.
Day 4:
Lesson- "Classic Literary Works Plots Part 2: Moral of the Story"
Theme/Focus: Introduction/familiarization with the quintessential part of classic literary works that is the lesson or moral of the story.
Day 5:
Lesson- "Become an Author"
Theme/Focus: Children apply what they learn this day and previous days of the week to create their own poems and/or story.

This lesson introduces students to recurring characters, character types, and genres in classic literature. Help them recognize patterns, story shapes, and how characters and genre influence plot.

This lesson introduces students to the concept of a story’s moral or lesson, helping them understand how stories teach important values and guide our choices.

What It's About:
This lesson invites students to step into the timeless world of classical writing by becoming authors themselves. Through guided exploration of classic poetry forms—such as quatrains, odes, limericks, ballads, and Shakespearean sonnets—as well as traditional story structure, students will gain an appreciation for literary form, rhythm, and voice while beginning to develop their own.
